Harley Davidson FXSTB Night Train - Long Test Ride |
 Motomodif: Its name is Night Train. The FXSTB Night Train really looks like a train, also thanks to its huge dimensions: we all know thet “custom” is synonym of Harley-Davidson since ever.
This special bike is really impressive, capable of thrilling even the most demanding rider.
Infomotori.co.uk tested this new bike to better study and understand its main characteristics and behaviour on the road.
Twin Cam
Among the few “legendary” powertrains in the motorbikes' industry, we can find: the V2 Guzzi, the air “Desmo” Ducati, the BMW boxer, and, still more, the engine which powers Harley-Davidson Night Train itself. Two cylinders, black colour, a simple look: this huge “hearth” was renewed to become compatible with the environment: electronic injection and electronically controlled exhaust, together with a new anti-rollio system.
The great 1584 cc V2 can reach 117 Nm at 3200: as a result, the riding is very relaxed and pleasant.
A thunder bolt in the darkness
The main characteristic of this livery is the dark black colour of the powertrain, which is also the colour of the bodywork in the verion we rode. The result is simply breathless: this Night Train is perfect both in the city centre and outside the city.
What is more, the general quality is very high. What really surprised us was the richness of the details, as the perfect polishes, the chromed details and ergonomic instrument controls.
On the road
Once on the saddle, the riding position is very particular: arms and legs must be straighten to get the bike: this position can seem hard at the beginning, but you take only few km to get easier with it. You can ride for two hundred km on the highway without feeling tired!
