Aprilia Mana 850 GT ABS - Test Ride
Motomodif: The ease of a scooter with the dynamics of a motorcycle: tourism automatic second Aprilia with a whole new fairing and ABS as standard

Aprilia Mana GT 850 - Test Ride. Cortina - In the centaurs more intransigent it may sound almost insulting. A bike with all the law, but with automatic transmission: the point of union between two diametrically opposed worlds.
In reality, it does not take much to understand which side is the Aprilia Mana GT. The chassis, the brakes, even the line are worthy of the best tourist, while the exchange Sportgear seven relationships is the most pleasant surprise once in the saddle.

The transmission system uses a CVT continuously variable, controlled by a servomechanism. In sequential mode is the pilot decide to enter the relationship through the traditional foot pedal or button on the handlebar. If you rely Autodrive mode instead of a logic operation on three different mappings (Touring, Sport and Rain) manages changed automatically. All with a phenomenal speed, without interruption of sensitive and torque with an absolutely flawless operation.

The engine, a V-twin of 90 degrees from 850 cc, delivering 76 hp and 73 Nm of torque, shared with regularity throughout the period of use. Does not vibrate, does not make too much noise and is just as resilient, all qualities suitable for a motorbike from the tourist areas and well emphasized by the above-mentioned exchange Sportgear.
The abbreviation GT brings a dowry semicarenatura discreet and protective, with adjustable windscreen, and a series of options created with the classic Aprilia care among which we point out the side bags and the box back together for the back passenger.

Road test
The streets are the same on which we had the pleasure of trying the "sister" Shiver GT and the "cousin" Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX, the Dolomites around Cortina. A fascinating journey, and set out to test all aspects of a motorcycle.
Mana GT comes from the test with our heads held high, beyond all expectation. The trellis frame is solid steel and reactive suspensions quality (upside-down fork 43 mm and easily adjustable lateral mono) sin only for calibration medium-soft, and then focused on comfort not perfect asphalt rather than the aggressive driving.

The tank is 16 liters under the seat for better weight distribution and to make room under the "hump" prior to a lighted room and covered with slip-resistant material that can accommodate a helmet, but also equipped with space for phone socket and 12V.

The engine and homogeneous elastic proves willing without surplus of horses, especially in relation to displacement. In contrast, no indecision undermines the very good overall balance of the guide. The change deserves further study, because it was really beyond any expectation. In sequential mode (the most used) is almost a fun climb and climb through the buttons on the handlebar, without having to move the foot from the platform and focus on driving. The reports come at a rate embarrassing not find it hard to believe the project manager, who claims to have found time changed six times lower than the reference of the competition.

Braking, a given radial front calipers and assisted (standard) by the new ABS Continental two channels, is ready and effective as long to assimilate the behavior of the anti-lock system: a matter of a few detached.

If we were to summarize in a word the talents of Mana GT choose "equlibrata". In performance, above all, suitable for beginners but not for this annoying, as is the skilful combination of comfort, quality (the finishes are impeccable), and dynamic.
A selection against, at least in speeches by bar. The reality is pleasantly different.
